The Indoor/Outdoor 62.5/125 OM1 Multimode Preterminated Fiber Optic Assemblies are built for versatile, high-performance network connections. They combine durability and reliability, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Designed with Corning® InfiniCore 300 glass, these assemblies provide exceptional optical performance for 1Gb Ethernet networks over distances of up to 300 meters. The UV-resistant, water-blocking jacket ensures protection in harsh environments, while the pre-terminated connectors provide a plug-and-play solution to simplify installations. These assemblies are ideal for multi-floor deployments, underground installations, and intra-building connectivity.

Typical Indoor/Outdoor Jacket Applications:
Our Indoor/Outdoor Pre-Terminated Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies are perfect for connecting the networks of two buildings through the use of an underground conduit, headend termination to a fiber backbone, termination of fiber rack systems, multi-floor deployment where select fibers are used at each floor, or intra-building backbones. This fiber is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, so there is no 50 foot fire code requirement traditionally found with outdoor (OSP) cable. This indoor/outdoor cable has a water blocking aramid yarn strength member surrounding the fiber optic strands and a UV resistant outer jacket making it a very versatile and perfect choice for a large variety of installations. This cable can be installed and left exposed in outdoor locations where blunt force or rodent chew damage is not a concern.
We offer our indoor/outdoor assemblies in an optional plenum rated jacket which is perfect for installations that transition from an outdoor location such as an underground conduit, to an interior location that requires a plenum rated jacket such as ventilation shafts. A cable rated for plenum installation will have low-smoke characteristics as defined by the NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency).
Standard QuickTreX® Manufacturing Features:
- Fast Custom ISO 9001 Certified Manufacturing in the USA. 2-millimeter color coded or sequentially labeled furcation tubing is installed on each strand for easy identification and extra durability before, during, and after the pull. Heat shrink tubing and glue set is used at the transition from the jacket to the furcation tubing providing superior strength and strain relief while pulling the assembly.
- Connectors inside the basket are staggered for less bulk and more flexibility.
- Each connector is individually plastic wrapped to prevent contamination by pulling lubricants and/or other contaminants.
- Each assembly includes a wrap around-label on both ends of the assembly which will include the QuickTreX® part number and individual serial number.
- Each Assembly includes a full test report. During our testing process all fiber ends are visually inspected with a fiberscope of 400 power or better for surface defects including, cracking, pitting, and scratches, on the glass surface of the connector. All connector ends are then tested utilizing a professional grade Loss Test Set.
- The test report is saved in our database for 1 year and can be requested at any time.
- Pulling Eyes (pulling baskets) if equipped are made from super strong polyethylene mesh and feature a free-spinning buckle to eliminate twisting of the cable during the pull. Heat shrink tubing is used at:
1. Where the basket meets with the turnbuckle (pull eye hook)
2. Where the basket ends and connects with the cable jacket to prevent snags and promote a smooth pull. - All assemblies 100ft and over will be placed on a spool for easy installation. Assemblies under 100ft will be neatly air spooled.

Choosing the right strand count depends on the size, needs, and future scalability of the network. 2 strands are perfect for simple point-to-point links, while 4 to 6 strands can support multi-floor or departmental configurations. For larger office buildings or business installations, 8 to 12 strands handle segmented tasks like voice and data transmission simultaneously. 18 to 24 strands cater to wider infrastructure needs, offering redundancy and scalability for organizations planning for long-term expansions or complex operations.

How is a pre-terminated fiber optic assembly tested?
Each assembly is serialized and includes a full test report. The test report is saved in our database for one year and can be requested at anytime.
What connectors can it get on fiber optic assembly?
Common connector types available for pre-terminated fiber optic assemblies include LC, SC, ST, FC, and MTP/MPO connectors.
Connectors are staggered to reduce the pulling basket diameter and promote an easy and more flexible cable pull. Plastic wrap is also applied to prevent contamination during installation
What is a FC connector?
An FC connector (ferrule connector) is known for its threaded design and use in single-mode fiber connections.
FC connectors are less favored in modern networks such as high-density applications where LC and SC connectors see more wide spread use.

LANshack: Best custom CAT8 ethernet cable on the market!
I needed a custom 55 foot S/FTP (Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair) CAT8 indoor ethernet cable for ethernet backhaul between two Eero mesh routers. I did tons of research (including Grok) and I came across LANshack.com. They have the thickest 23AWG wire in their custom CAT8 cable vs 26AWG on Amazon (lower number is thicker; 23AWG wire has roughly twice the cross-sectional area of 26AWG). Excellent price per foot, and this cable is thick! Very quick turnaround once you order from them. I am very pleased with LANshack and I will order from them again for future projects!
