The QuickTreX® 144 Fiber Aerial Horizontal Splice Enclosure is a rugged, high-capacity solution designed for outdoor aerial fiber optic splicing and distribution applications. Built from high-strength PC material and rated IP68, this enclosure provides exceptional protection against water, dust, UV exposure, and harsh environmental conditions, making it ideal for overhead installations on guy wires and aerial networks.

With support for up to 144 fibers, this enclosure includes six hinged splice trays (12/24 fibers each), allowing for organized, high-density splicing while maintaining easy access for installation and maintenance. A heavy-duty sealing gasket and rubber cable entry grommets ensure a secure environmental seal, while the lockable design adds an extra layer of network security.

Designed for real-world installs, the enclosure features four cable entry ports (20.4mm each). For optimal installation and sealing, we recommend a maximum cable outer diameter of 16–18 mm, depending on application and pull conditions.

Questions & Answers

Q
What does UHD stand for?
A
UHD stands for "Ultra High Density" and provides the most compact connector layout or footprint on the adapter panel. UHD enclosures or panels can only accept UHD adpater panels or cassettes.
Q
What does SHD chassis mean?
A
SHD stands for "Super High Density" and provides a more compact connector layout or footprint on the adapter panel. SHD chassis enclosures can only accept SHD adapter panels or MTP/MPO cassettes.
Q
How many fiber strands can fit into a fiber optic enclosure?
A
The amount of fiber strands that you can fit into an enclosure will depend on how many panels or adapters you can fit and what type of connectors you choose. For example, if you choose a 1 panel enclosure and use a 12LC adapter panel, you can house or couple 12 fibers in that enclosure. If you use 12 MTP/MPO adapter panel, you can house or couple 144 or 288 strands depending on whether the MTP or MPO connector being connected is a 12 or 24 fiber connector.
Q
What does LGX stand for?
A
LGX stands for Lucent Connector Group and is often called Lucent Global X. It was originally Lucent Technologies standard for fiber optic adapter plates and enclosures but over time it became industry standard.
Q
What are the different types of chassis in fiber optic enclsoures?
A
The three main chassis are LGX, SHD, and UHD. LGX is the most common and standardized chassis type.
