This Multilink® Outdoor Fiber Optic Dome Pedestal Enclosure is designed for interconnectivity and termination of optical fibers. It is designed for above or below grade applications and supports up to 6 or more cable entries. The closure requires no special tools, adhesives, or mastics for installation. It it is made of polyethylene and contains plycarbonate V-Band and polypropylene end plates. This enclosure can be used on the ground were crtical fiber connections need protection or for aerial applications attached to messenger wires. This fiber optic enclosure can be used for both splicing and patching fiber optic cables and includes and can be locked. Depending on the type of optical termination panels used, this enclosure can house up to 16 standard terminations. If using splice trays it can house op to 288 terminations. We offer adapter panels and splice trays that are specifically designed for this enclosure. It is proudly made in the USA!

  • Utilizes a Multicentric grommet, enabling numerous cable sizes to be used
  • Split end plate design allows for mid-span cable access 
  • Four branch or lateral cable ports designed to support single or multiple cable entries
  • Compression sealing system for branch or lateral ports, providing a tight seal and a strain relief
  • Can accommodate strand, wall, pedestal, or ADSS mounting brackets

What does UHD stand for?

UHD stands for "Ultra High Density" and provides the most compact connector layout or footprint on the adapter panel. UHD enclosures or panels can only accept UHD adpater panels or cassettes.

What does SHD chassis mean?
A
SHD stands for "Super High Density" and provides a more compact connector layout or footprint on the adapter panel. SHD chassis enclosures can only accept SHD adapter panels or MTP/MPO cassettes.

How many fiber strands can fit into a fiber optic enclosure?
A
The amount of fiber strands that you can fit into an enclosure will depend on how many panels or adapters you can fit and what type of connectors you choose. For example, if you choose a 1 panel enclosure and use a 12LC adapter panel, you can house or couple 12 fibers in that enclosure. If you use 12 MTP/MPO adapter panel, you can house or couple 144 or 288 strands depending on whether the MTP or MPO connector being connected is a 12 or 24 fiber connector.
