Many fiber optic network bids and Requests For Quote (RFQ) are citing cabling standards to specify guidelines (e.g., fiber length) that network installers must follow. Adherence to these standards ensures installation quality and guarantees network performance.
The process of testing a network installation to ensure adherence to standards is called certification, often requiring hard-copy documentation as proof of adherence.
The Fiber OWL 7 (p/n: F7) optical power meter, ready for multimode, contains a user-friendly Fiber Link Wizard with color diagrams to guide setup, calculate link budget, and set the optical reference. Up to 10,000 fiber runs can be stored and downloaded to a PC with OWLView software for report generation.
The universal detector port on the F7 comes with two adapter caps, one for 2.5mm connectors like SC, ST, and FC, and one for 1.25mm connectors like LC.
The DP8X comes configured with an SC connector port. The Dual OWL Pro 850 (p/n: DP8X) fiber optic light source is designed for accurate testing and certification of multimode networks at 850nm. The output is temperature-stabilized for accuracy.
The Fiber OWL 7 850 Multimode Test Kit provides the necessary tools for certifying fiber optic links against popular cabling standards in multimode networks at 850nm, commonly referred to as Tier 1 certification.

LANshack: Best custom CAT8 ethernet cable on the market!
I needed a custom 55 foot S/FTP (Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair) CAT8 indoor ethernet cable for ethernet backhaul between two Eero mesh routers. I did tons of research (including Grok) and I came across LANshack.com. They have the thickest 23AWG wire in their custom CAT8 cable vs 26AWG on Amazon (lower number is thicker; 23AWG wire has roughly twice the cross-sectional area of 26AWG). Excellent price per foot, and this cable is thick! Very quick turnaround once you order from them. I am very pleased with LANshack and I will order from them again for future projects!
