The universal detector port on the F7 comes with two adapter caps: one for 2.5mm connectors (SC, ST, FC) and the other for 1.25mm connectors (LC).
Certification, the process of testing network installation adherence to standards, often requires hard-copy documentation.
The Fiber OWL 7 (p/n: F7) optical power meter is multimode ready, featuring a Fiber Link Wizard with color diagrams to guide setup, calculate link budgets, and set optical references. It stores up to 10,000 fiber runs in memory, downloadable to PC via OWLView software.
The Dual OWL Pro (p/n: DP83) fiber optic light source provides accurate testing for multimode networks with temperature-stabilized outputs for precision.
Many network bids and Requests For Quote (RFQ) specify cabling standards (e.g., fiber length) that network installers must follow to ensure installation quality and network performance.
The Fiber OWL 7 Dual OWL Test Kit includes essential tools for certifying multimode networks, commonly referred to as Tier 1 certification. The DP83 is configured with SC connector ports.

LANshack: Best custom CAT8 ethernet cable on the market!
I needed a custom 55 foot S/FTP (Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair) CAT8 indoor ethernet cable for ethernet backhaul between two Eero mesh routers. I did tons of research (including Grok) and I came across LANshack.com. They have the thickest 23AWG wire in their custom CAT8 cable vs 26AWG on Amazon (lower number is thicker; 23AWG wire has roughly twice the cross-sectional area of 26AWG). Excellent price per foot, and this cable is thick! Very quick turnaround once you order from them. I am very pleased with LANshack and I will order from them again for future projects!
