Many fiber optic network bids and Requests For Quote (RFQ) cite cabling standards (e.g., fiber length) to outline guidelines installers must follow. This adherence ensures the installation quality and guarantees that the network will perform as designed.
The Fiber OWL 7 1310 Test Kit provides essential tools for certifying fiber optic links to popular standards in singlemode networks at 1310nm, commonly known as Tier 1 certification.
The Fiber OWL 7 (p/n: F7) optical power meter is ready for both singlemode testing. It features a Fiber Link Wizard with color diagrams to guide setup, calculate link budgets, and set the optical reference. The F7 can store up to 10,000 fiber runs in its internal memory and download data to a PC using OWLView software.
The Laser OWL Pro 1310 (p/n: LP3X) is a fiber optic light source designed for accurate testing and certification of singlemode networks at 1310nm. It has temperature-stabilized output for precision and comes with an SC connector port.
The F7's universal detector port includes two adapter caps: one for 2.5mm connectors (SC, ST, FC) and the other for 1.25mm connectors (LC).

LANshack: Best custom CAT8 ethernet cable on the market!
I needed a custom 55 foot S/FTP (Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair) CAT8 indoor ethernet cable for ethernet backhaul between two Eero mesh routers. I did tons of research (including Grok) and I came across LANshack.com. They have the thickest 23AWG wire in their custom CAT8 cable vs 26AWG on Amazon (lower number is thicker; 23AWG wire has roughly twice the cross-sectional area of 26AWG). Excellent price per foot, and this cable is thick! Very quick turnaround once you order from them. I am very pleased with LANshack and I will order from them again for future projects!
