Fiber OWL 7 optical power meters come standard with a state-of-the-art UNIVERSAL adapter port system. For more information about universal ports, watch this Universal Ports video. 

Two adapter cap options are available, based on the two most common ferrule diameters used in the fiber optics industry: 

2.5mm: ST, SC, and FC 
1.25mm: LC

Physics and optics do not allow the same universal connector port to work well on any brand of light source. Hence, light sources must have fixed ST, SC, or FC connector ports. Watch this video about Interchangeable Light Source Ports for more information.




Encircled Flux (EF) Compliance
Encircled Flux (EF) Compliance is the latest requirement for testing multimode networks designed for transmission of 10 Gigabits and beyond. When used with EF mode controller cables, Fiber OWL 7 certifiers ensure high-speed multimode networks are compliant to standards-based EF requirements. Helpful diagrams on the screen prompt help you connect the tester to the link as shown, and text-based help screens are available in case there are questions in the field. Fiber OWL 7 certifiers are a fraction of the cost of bulky over-priced certifiers, saving costconscious technicians and installers thousands of dollars that could be better used elsewhere. At nearly a third of the size and weight as compared to much bulkier ultra-expensive certifiers on the market, Fiber OWL 7 certifiers are truly hand-held pocket-sized devices that can be operated in one hand!

OWLView software gathers together link certification results, OTDR traces and events, and endface analysis and formats them onto one single-page “Trireport”. Link certification provides you with a PASS/FAIL test result, ensuring that fiber links are installed and tested according to popular industry standards, including TIA568 and various levels of Ethernet. When used with a corresponding light source, Fiber OWL 7 certifiers allow you to certify multimode and/or singlemode fiber links.
