The Fiber OWL 7 MM/VFL Test Kit provides tools for certifying fiber optic links per popular cabling standards in multimode networks, known as Tier 1 certification.
The WaveSource Pro MM/VFL (p/n: WPMV) is designed for accurate testing of multimode networks at 850nm and 1300nm with temperature-stabilized outputs. It features SC connector ports.
Certification is the process of testing network installations for adherence to specified standards, often requiring hard-copy documentation.
The WPMV includes an auto-wavelength switching protocol that synchronizes with the Fiber OWL 7 (p/n: F7). Its integrated Visual Fault Locator (VFL) port aids in fault location and fiber identification.
Many fiber optic network bids and Requests For Quote (RFQ) reference cabling standards to specify guidelines for network installers, ensuring installation quality and optimal performance.
The Fiber OWL 7 (p/n: F7) optical power meter supports both multimode and includes a Fiber Link Wizard for setup guidance, link budget calculations, and optical reference settings. It stores up to 10,000 fiber runs and allows report generation via OWLView software.
Automated testing functions, such as automatic dual-wavelength storage and auto-wavelength recognition, help reduce testing time and errors.
The universal detector port on the F7 includes two adapter caps: one for 2.5mm connectors (SC, ST, FC) and another for 1.25mm connectors (LC).
