The process of testing a network installation for adherence to standards is called certification, often requiring hard-copy documentation as proof. Intelligent automated testing functions, such as automatic dual-wavelength storage and auto-wavelength recognition, help reduce testing time and human error.
The WaveSource Pro MM (p/n: WPMX) fiber optic light source is designed for certifying multimode (850nm & 1300nm) networks. It features temperature-stabilized dual-wavelength outputs and auto-wavelength switching to synchronize with the F7V.
The Fiber OWL 7V (p/n: F7V) optical power meter supports multimode testing, includes a Fiber Link Wizard for setup, link budget calculation, and optical reference setting, and can store 10,000 fiber runs for PC download via OWLView software.
The universal detector port on the F7V includes two adapter caps for 2.5mm connectors (SC, ST, FC) and 1.25mm connectors (LC), with LC length testing and visual fault locator ports. SC connector ports come standard on the light source.
Many fiber optic network bids and Requests For Quote (RFQ) cite cabling standards as guidelines (e.g., fiber length) to ensure quality installation and network performance.
The Fiber OWL 7V MM Test Kit provides essential tools for Tier 1 certification against popular cabling standards in multimode networks.

LANshack: Best custom CAT8 ethernet cable on the market!
I needed a custom 55 foot S/FTP (Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair) CAT8 indoor ethernet cable for ethernet backhaul between two Eero mesh routers. I did tons of research (including Grok) and I came across LANshack.com. They have the thickest 23AWG wire in their custom CAT8 cable vs 26AWG on Amazon (lower number is thicker; 23AWG wire has roughly twice the cross-sectional area of 26AWG). Excellent price per foot, and this cable is thick! Very quick turnaround once you order from them. I am very pleased with LANshack and I will order from them again for future projects!
