888-568-1230Our Corning® SST-Drop™ Flat Outdoor (OSP) Gel-Filled Pre-Terminated Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies are rated for almost all outdoor applications. This cable is unique since it's self-supporting, meaning it can be installed aerially without a messenger, while also being durable enough for direct burial installations. If directly burying and rodents are a concern, we do recommend using our armored outdoor direct burial cable or using a conduit for extra protection. This cable is also perfect for installations inside conduit and pathways that are subjected to wide temperature variations or secured to a building or other permanent outdoor structure. It's rugged all dielectric design makes it a popular choice for a variety of outdoor installations. Our outdoor (OSP) pre-terminated fiber optic assemblies are perfect for headend termination to a fiber backbone and intra-building backbones. If installing in conduit we recommend using at least a 2 1/2" diameter conduit to accommodate for the assembly breakout.
Note: Polyethylene (PE) OSP cable is restricted to a 50 feet run indoors due to fire-code restrictions.
Our Singlemode Outdoor (OSP) SST Drop Self Supporting Pre-Terminated Assemblies are designed for aerial, direct burial, and conduit installations. These assemblies use Corning® SST-Drop™ Flat Gel-Filled Fiber Optic Cable, which is all-dielectric and self-supporting, allowing aerial installation without a separate messenger wire. The ruggedized construction ensures long-term durability, even in harsh outdoor environments. This cable is also highly resistant to temperature variations, making it an excellent choice for fiber pathways exposed to extreme conditions.
For direct burial applications, the cable is gel-filled to provide additional water resistance, helping to protect the fiber from moisture intrusion. If rodent damage is a concern, we recommend using armored direct burial cable or conduit for added security. Additionally, this OSP-rated cable is ideal for use in conduit and can be secured to buildings or other permanent outdoor structures.
Note: Polyethylene (PE) OSP cables are restricted to a maximum 50-foot run indoors due to fire code regulations.
