It allows you to test the continuity of each signal pin of an HDMI cable. This may be something you want to do prior to an extensive installation to save time and money. It can also help locate an existing faulty HDMI cables.

NOTE: This tester is not usable for cables with built-in equalizer that are larger than 50 ft.
